Following the latest UK Government announcement all of our English centres are expected to reopen on Monday 17th May.
Our Scottish and Welsh centres remain temporarily closed until further notice.
If you have an upcoming booking due to take place before 17th May 2021, we’d love to be able to re-book this for you at a new date in the future and as a thank you for your support we would like to offer you a free drink for all members of your party.
However, if you would like to cancel your booking please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that there may be some delay in our response – but we will do everything we can to get back to you as soon as is practically possible.
If you have an existing voucher or e-voucher, we are pleased to advise that we will be extending the “valid to” date for an extra 3 months.
Our priority continues to be the health and safety of our customers and team members. As well as carefully following Government guidelines we have put many extra measures in place; including enhanced cleaning throughout the centre. Do I Need To Pre-Book Bowling at Hollywood Bowl?1
As we carefully re-open our bowling alleys, we require that all customers pre-book their visit online during peak weekend periods.
Pre-booking your bowl with a maximum of 6 in a group, ensures that whilst we have a limited capacity you can manage effectively to social distance whilst bowling in our centre.
We’ve worked hard to ensure that your day out will be covid secure. Our teams have daily temperature checks and will all be wearing PPE throughout your visit, we have an enhanced cleaning regime ensuring that your bowling balls are clean, we are providing hand sanitisers throughout all of our centres and we are asking that you wear your own shoes (as always) whilst bowling. These are just a few of the measures we’ve implemented amongst many others.
How Many People Can Bowl and Socially Distance?1
Following guidance, we are allowing maximum bookings of 6 people per lane.
This is a reduction of our usual 8 maximum.
We ask that whilst this may be frustrating, that you do not organise to meet with others during this period. To help with social distancing we have installed full height dividers between the lane seating areas - this will ensure that your group remains in a ‘social bubble’.
Do I Need To Wear A Mask When Bowling?1
As with Government guidelines, masks must be worn in our English, Scottish, and Welsh centres.
In our English and Welsh centres, anyone with a disability, breathing difficulties and children under 11 are exempt. In our Scottish centres, anyone with a disability, breathing difficulties and children under 5 are exempt.
Masks may be removed when eating.

Will Arcades Be Open at Hollywood Bowl?1
In addition to being able to Bowl in the knowledge that our centres are covid-secure, we are able to reopen our arcades. Our teams will be undertaking a rigorous and enhanced cleaning regime across the arcade area to ensure our customers remain safe. There is also hand sanitiser for customers to use before and after playing arcade games.
Additionally, we may have removed some games from our range within the arcade which we believe it would not be possible to ensure remain safe for you, our customers. We know that this may be disappointing to some customers, however, we will work to bring these back into action as soon as it is safe to do so and guidelines allow it.
Is Bowling Safe for Children Post-Covid Lockdown?1
Our team clean our centres extensively throughout the day, this is in addition to enhanced cleaning between games.
We are asking all adults with children to take responsibility to ensure their children are social distancing, and to help with this we have installed full height dividers between the lane seating areas - this will ensure that your group remains in a ‘social bubble’.
Further to this, during this period we would ask that you do not arrange to meet another group. This will help to limit the likelihood of social distancing breaking down and help keep everyone within the centre safe.
How Often Are Ten Pin Bowling Balls Cleaned?1
We know that safety is a primary concern for all of our bowlers and visitors at Hollywood Bowl. We have undertaken a coronavirus risk assessment and as part of this implemented a rigorous & enhanced cleaning regime across our centres.
As part of this we will ensure that between games, all bowling balls are cleaned thoroughly on lanes (we have installed full height dividers between the lane seating areas - this will ensure that your group remains in a ‘social bubble’.). Additionally, we are cleaning down all surfaces within the bowling area, helping to ensure that both this area and the entire centre remains covid safe for bowlers. We have also limited the number of bowling balls available on lanes, so your bowling balls will be your own.
Also available at Hollywood Bowl we are able to offer disposable gloves upon request from reception, in adult and children’s sizes, should any customers feel more comfortable and safe using these during their visit.
Can I Still Get Food Whilst Bowling?1
Yes, of course you can still get food and drink whilst at Hollywood Bowl. Drinks can be ordered from the Hollywood Bowl order & pay app, at selected centres, or from the bar whilst bowling. Food can be ordered from the app, bar or Diner to eat away from the lanes, after the game.
We recommend that you pre-order food and drink when booking your game if possible. If you do wish to order and pay in centre, contactless payments are preferred. There is a slightly reduced food menu, and our menus are cleaned regularly. Cutlery and sauces will be brought with your food.
Within the local covid tier how many people can I go bowling with?1
UK Government Covid-19 local tier classifications and other relevant restrictions apply to the booking of all of our products, promotions and packages, specifically relating to the make-up of your group.
If you make a ten pin bowling booking and the local restrictions subsequently change (which means that you can no longer bowl with your original group), then you will be able to cancel or amend your booking with us.

Tier 1 areas: Groups of up to 6 people from multiple households can visit our centres together
Tier 2 areas: Groups of up to 6 people from a single household or support bubble can visit our centres together.
Please note - alcoholic drinks can only be served with a meal in Tier 2 areas.
Tier 3 areas: Our Bowling centres are temporarily closed along with the majority of hospitality.

Tier 3 areas: Our Bowling centres would be closed along with much of hospitality, with some restaurants open
Tier 4 areas: Our Bowling centres would be closed, full lockdown with people allowed to meet outdoors including for exercise

- There will be table service only
- Test and trace is mandatory - you must provide details to enter
- Mixed households can meet as a group of a maximum of 4 people (children under the age of 11 are not included within the 4)
- More than 4 people can meet if you live in the same household - you may have to prove you're from the same household
- Proof of a Welsh residential address must be provided upon entry, this can be printed or digital, e.g. a driving licence, utility bill or passport

We're asking that all customers stay home if they have had any Covid-19 or flu-like symptoms in the past 14 days to avoid the spread of germs.Please ensure that you and all members of your group (including children) abide by the latest Government guidelines on social distancing at all times.
We have installed full height dividers between the lane seating areas to aid social distancing, and bowling balls, ramps, lane seating and scoring screens will be sanitised between each use. Selected games in our amusement areas will be turned off to support social distancing and bar and diner seating has been positioned to create the required space between customer groups.
We require all of our customers to sanitise their hands upon entry. We also have hand sanitiser available throughout the centre to be used as needed.
In order to assist with the Government Track and Trace service, when you arrive for your visit a member of the team will take your contact details.
Extra safety resources for our customers
We want to make sure our customers feel safe at all times while visiting our centre and disposable gloves are available on request.
Enhanced cleaning procedures
Our team members are all working hard to keep our centres clean throughout the day. Our bowling balls, ramps, scoring screens and lane seating are cleaned after each customer group.
Amusement machines, pool equipment, counters, tables, chairs, door handles and other high touch surfaces are also cleaned consistently.
We also deep clean our centres each night after closing to ensure all of our surfaces are fully sanitised ready for the next day.
Team member health
We're making sure all of our team members are healthy and ready to work.
We have briefings for our team at the start of each day with clear instruction about how to maintain the highest cleaning and hygiene standards in our centres, including emphasising frequent and proper hand washing routines for both our team and customers.
All team members will receive a temperature check before their shift and we will continue to be very cautious in terms of any team member showing signs of illness, requiring them to follow the isolation and health guidance given by the government.
Our team members will wear face coverings and gloves while working and we have introduced screens is high contact areas like reception and at bar till points.
